When a property becomes available to let, it is offered to the person at the top of the Housing List. However, there are three Lists to choose from; the External Housing List, the Internal Housing List, and the Aspirational Housing List.
We try to make sure that each List gets a fair share of the properties, so we use ‘quota targets’ to help us decide which List we go to. It is nigh impossible to hit every target bang on, so at the end of each year we review how we have done and change the targets to address any imbalance that has occurred in the last twelve months. On the whole, we usually end up allocating around one in four of our relets to North View tenants.
